Steps to a successful Back to School Drive
- Choose a location where contributors can easily drop off donations.
- Choose a start and end date. A typical drive can last for a week to a month.
- Spread the word through email, social media, and flyers. A flyer and sample social media and electronic communication are included in the tool kit.
- Set out a collection bin. Get creative by decorating a large box, baby pool, can or just about anything that will serve as a collection bin.
- Collect and Count. Once your donations are collected, please count them and let us know your final number. For example, 10 pencils, 10 spiral notebooks. This is very helpful to us for our inventory. it's also great information for you to share with your donors and let them know how much they contributed.
- Deliver the donations. The collected items should be delivered to the Helping Hands donation room at PCCT, The Presbyterian Church of Chatham Township, 240 Southern Blvd. The room facilitates a drop off location for contributors and a FREE shopping location for others. Contact us for summer hours at [email protected], we will have a volunteer meet you to accept the donations.
